Two Zimmerman Researchers Awarded Advanced Graduate Leadership Program Fellowships

August 1, 2019

Two members of the Zimmerman lab, Camrynn (Cammie) Fausey and Mary Kate Mitchell Lane, were awarded Advanced Graduate Leadership Program (AGLP) Fellowships from Yale’s School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS). The SEAS AGLP is a competitive program with typically six to eight fellowships awarded each year based on academic performance, letters of recommendation, ability to express a clear and compelling interest or motivation in the program, and availability of internships . The three program tracks (Academic, Business and Industry, Policy and Public Service) are designed to give graduate students experience beyond the research lab. As part of the Policy and Public Service track, Cammie plans to use her AGLP Fellowship to work with Yale’s Office of Federal Relations on topics related to international development. Within the Academic track, Mary Kate plans to focus on improving mentorship relationships for graduate students and advisors, particularly helping graduate students find good mentors and improving mentoring skills for advisors.
