Professor Zimmerman, as editor Environmental Science & Technology, research professor, and Associate Dean of the Yale School of the Environment, served on a panel along with fellow eminent professors to discuss strategies and insights into improving equity and inclusion within STEM fields. The panel was held after a screening of the award-winning documentary “Picture a Scientist”, which follows the triumphs and struggles of female faculty members in STEM fields. Julie and the entire Zimmerman group reaffirm our committment to promoting equity and inclusion within our own research laboratory, and strive to instigate systemic change to meet these ideals more broadly in the scientific fields.
